Focusing on ‘the Journey’ and creating the ‘Gathering Place’ will assist many of us in ‘Rediscovering Catholicism’. Our generation may be the last generation that has known the Catholic Church the center of its community. St Ignatius, Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Churches were the centers of the French, Scottish and Irish and Italian communities respectively. Our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will not understand the importance of the Church in our lives. The ‘Gathering Place’ will assist them to understand where they came from and how important the Catholic principles of Charity and Social Justice are important to all of us. This can only happen if Catholics come together and make five-year pledges to the best of our ability. Father Hamish and Parishioners are available to assist us in planning our donations. Just call the office for an appointment. Let’s do our part.
Thank you all who have completed the pledge form for the journey. Pledges help us plan. We can’t put a shovel in the ground until we have a very clear sense of our ability to meet our obligations. If you haven’t already done so, please fill out a pledge form and put in the collection or drop it off at the office. Forms are available at the entrances.
Have you ever considered including the Cathedral or the Journey in your will or estate planning? Your donation will be of great assistance to the Journey and will be a lasting legacy to you.
