Many thanks are due to our Parishioners for their generosity in completing the following:
· Additional repairs to the roof of the Cathedral were completed;
· The Altar and Podium were moved;
· The Altar floor was cut and repaired and the carpeting was replaced;
· The drywall that was damaged by leaks was repaired and the ceilings were repainted;
· Damaged ceiling tiles were replaced in the Sacristy.
In addition, we brought our landscaping to Award-winning quality. Engineers were recommended and retained to examine the structure of the Bell Steeple and expert masonry contractors were retained to complete the work necessary to protect the stained glass windows by applying sealer to the window ledges and around the eight to ten feet at the bottom of them. The balance of the work necessary for the proper maintenance of the Cathedral can be delayed to the time of the construction of ‘The Gathering Place’. The cost of flowers for our amazing garden was $1700 and the cost of protecting our stained glass windows was $66,000.
Everybody is reminded to attend ‘The Journey’ BBQ to kick-off our fundraising initiative on Sunday, September 29th from 12pm to 4pm on the Cathedral grounds. There will be fun for all ages.
