The Cathedral and The Gathering Place:
Precious Blood Cathedral will remain central to the development on the Cathedral property with all uses flowing to and from the Cathedral. The year 1975 marked the 100th Anniversary of the building of the Church of the Sacred Heart, now Precious Blood Cathedral. The whole year was devoted to great celebration. As part of this celebration, and through the concerted effort of a number of faithful parishioners and clergy, Precious Blood Cathedral received Ontario Historic Site designation. This was a considerable undertaking at that time and an official plaque was erected at the front of the Cathedral in recognition of this achievement. The Multi-use Building:
A multi-use building will be a venue for local, regional and diocesan celebrations, meetings, instruction, spiritual development and training for good works. It will allow a place for our traditional organizations and our developing programs for children, adults and seniors. Our parish family can meet to grieve, to celebrate, to share and to initiate new ministries. Preschoolers, adolescents, and young families will have access to a setting supported by new technologies that will be the focus of their communication and learning. They will have a welcoming place within our Cathedral Community to meet their needs. The Lottery:
Tickets for the Journey Lottery will be available shortly. The tickets will be $20 each with prizes of $49,000 and a draw each Saturday for $1,000 for 49 weeks. Winning tickets will be re-entered for the draws. Ticket information will be available soon. Please volunteer your time to sit and sell at great locations. Contact John Nesom at 705-575-4141.
