The commemoration of all the faithful departed will occur at Precious Blood Cathedral on Tuesday at 7 PM. All Souls' Day is a celebration to remember those who have died (in particular one's relatives). It always falls on November 2 and is preceded by Halloween on October 31 and All Saints' Day on November 1. Together these three days of remembrance of the dead form the triduum (a religious observance lasting three days) of Hallow-tide or All-hallow-tide. People traditionally visit the graves of deceased relatives during this time and place a lit candle on their graves. A book has been placed by the baptism font for you to write the names of your loved ones.
It has been a long-standing tradition in the Church to have one's house blessed. Fr. Chad will be happy to visit and bless your home. No preparation is required on your part. Please call the parish office (705-256-8474) and Fr. Chad will set up a convenient time with you.
“When you say your Rosary, the angels rejoice, the Blessed Trinity delights in it, my Son finds joy in it too, and I myself am happier than you can possibly guess. AFTER THE HOLY SACRIFICE OF THE MASS, THERE IS NOTHING IN THE CHURCH THAT I LOVE AS MUCH AS THE ROSARY.” —Our Lady to Blessed Alan de la Roche (Offered Tuesday - Friday after Mass)
As you can see when you attend Mass it takes a lot of volunteers to fulfill the opening requirements of all our ministries in this time of Covid 19. Please contact the office if you are able to volunteer.
